The GDC Vouchers campaign was launched to help tackle this issue by providing $55 worth of vouchers for families to purchase groceries from our App at a cheaper price. Unfortunately, that campaign has now been cancelled due to the misleading marketing campaign that the public associated with the government. However, we remain committed to helping tackle the higher cost of living in a sustainable way and have therefore created this blog post to answer any questions you may have, provide information on alternative programs that are still available, and keep you updated on other GDC activities moving forward. Read on for more details about the GDC VOUCHER CAMPAIGN CANCELLATION: Here’s What You Need To Know.
What is the Goodwill Disbursement Credits (GDC) Voucher?
In celebrating Singapore’s 57th birthday, the GDC Voucher is a program that provides vouchers with a value of $55 to Singaporeans to help them purchase groceries. The vouchers can be redeemed when you Download and Sign-Up the “GaiGai” App and can be used to purchase groceries. The vouchers are given to Singaporeans as a goodwill gesture by GaiGai Singapore to help offset the rising cost of living.
COVID-19 and its Effect on Singaporeans
With an increase in the cost of living due to COVID-19 causing the cost of living in Singapore to rise, many families may find that the cost of groceries also inflated. The GDC Vouchers campaign was launched to help tackle this issue by providing $55 worth of vouchers for families to purchase groceries from our App at a cheaper price.
Why was the GDC Voucher Campaign Cancelled?
The GDC Voucher Campaign was launched on Thursday, August 04, on our App. Unfortunately, the campaign has now been cancelled due to the misleading marketing campaign that the public associated with the government. A lot of Singaporeans expressed their doubts and queries as they felt that the campaign was a suspected scam due to the similarity with CDC Vouchers. However, the campaign was launched to provide vouchers valued at $55 to Singaporeans to help them purchase groceries. The vouchers can be redeemed upon signing up on the “GaiGai” App in the “Checkout” category on the app and can be used to purchase groceries. There is no government involvement in this campaign, and we have been transparent about this from the start. However, based on their feedback, it does not seem like many Singaporeans were clear about this. We recognize that there may have been a miscommunication, and we apologize for this.
Alternatives to the Discontinued GDC Voucher Campaign
GDC is committed to helping Singaporeans tackle the higher cost of living in a sustainable way. We will launch a new marketing campaign, “Essential Goods Subsidy Voucher (EGS Voucher)”, for Singaporeans still interested and looking for sign-up vouchers from us. This program provided $25 worth of vouchers upon new user sign-up and redemption upon checking out your cart. This campaign is open to ALL Singaporeans compared to previous GDC vouchers per household.
We thank you for your continued support. Moving forward, we will continue to work towards having more campaigns for Singaporeans that share our mission and values. We also hope to hear more from you as we believe our success depends on a collaborative effort from everyone. We will also look into many improvements that were feedback by our customers.
Thank you for supporting GaiGai Singapore.
